I’ve got to applaud you. If you’ve been following my adventures here, it is very possible that you have changed your life and are now living according to my advice with very little knowledge of who in the world I even am.

Hi there! My name is Kerri Estella Grinnage and I am a certified Image, Skin Care and Style Consultant with BeautiControl Cosmetics. BeautiControl is an amazing skin care and makeup company at the forefront of the cosmetics industry. I have been a dedicated client of BeautiControl’s since I was a kid (my mom is a consultant, too!), and though I love to experiment with other products, I find myself always coming back to BeautiControl.

More than anything, I love style. More than clothes and designers and labels, I love watching people express themselves through the things that they wear and the way they present themselves. And awesomely, BeautiControl has introduced eBeauti, a tool designed to help you find your fashion personality and colors customized for you! I am Dramatically Glam (excess is never enough) and color-wise, Intense Cool. With these tools and my natural love for spending other people’s money, I work as a stylist and personal shopper, as well.

Skin Care: Don’t Get Dressed Without It

So often when we’re working on getting fly, we think about makeup. And that’s a-ok, I can’t tell you the number of times that a new lipstick or a smoky shadow has elevated my mood and taken a look to the next level. But too often, I see women spend a fortune on cosmetics yet completely ignore their base– their actual bare face.

Skin care is perhaps the most important thing you can do to enhance your image. You probably know that the skin is the human body’s largest organ and as an organ, it often is an easy visual indicator of our body’s health or distress. Clear, vibrant skin is a symbol of internal health — and all in a five second glance.

Take care to take care of your face by cleansing, exfoliating and moisturizing with products that will keep your skin smooth and hydrated and remember that what works for your friend or that gorgeous celebrity might not necessarily work for you. That is what I love about BeautiControl’s Spa Facial line. Using the skin sensor technology and the online skin analysis quiz, you end up with a customized skin prescription. For instance, I have crazy oily skin with little evidence of sensitivity and loss of youth (lines, age spots and what not) and I was recommended the cleansing gel and toner with Alpha Hydroxy Acids ( AHAs) while one of my new clients was on the opposite of the oil spectrum and received the cleansing lotion and toner with Poly-Hydroxy Acids (PHAs). The quiz in and of itself is informative, causing you to really take stock of the things your skin is going through.

Makeup Style Trend: Spring 2013

The Fashion Weeks are behind us and we are officially calling it Spring!

While your teeth still may be chattering and if you’re in Virginia, like me, looking forward to impending snow related doom, the very notion of spring may be a comical one. But in fashion, as in life, we’ve got to think ahead. And honestly, with all of the unpredictability this past season, spring weather could be upon us in no time.
